Home Theatre / Game room setup!
We have a spare room at the back of our house that was initially our server room. We needed a computer downstairs, under the house, with which to control our Christmas lighting system, but this computer also needed to be on our network.
Micle and I decided to go against setting up wireless and instead ran some network cable down under the house through a hole we found (actually had coax for a TV antenna, but we don’t use it, so we took it out.)
Now that we had network under the house, we figured we’d throw our rack and servers under the house, to get them out of the small, cramped, hot room and into the cold, spacious under house area. But this left us with an empty back room.
Together, Kim and I share over 100 (maybe close to 200 now) DVDs, three gaming consoles (XBox, GC, PS2), a DVD player and a complete 5.1 Dolby Digital setup. This was all setup in our bedroom, taking up loads of space. Now, personally, I prefer to have the bedroom for two activities only, and one of them isn’t TV, so I figured we could move it all into the spare room, and turn it into our little Home Theatre / Game room!
Once I had it all setup, I took a happy snap of all of it. Much fun to be had!
